EDISON INNOVATION FOUNDATION
About Our Foundation
The Edison Innovation Foundation is a nonprofit organization that supports the Edison Legacy and encourages students (including women and minorities) to embrace careers in science, technology, and engineering and is committed to educating the next generation of great innovators while using Thomas Edison and his Invention Factory in South Orange, NJ as the foundation of our efforts.
Thomas Edison and his innovation drove us through the industrial age and will continue to drive us into the future. Since 1996, we have strived to carry on this important work through education support, professional awards, historical preservation, and much more.
The foundation created the Thomas Edison Pitch Contest in 2010 to encourage innovation in our society today as well as sponsoring similar awards like The TOMMY Award for the most innovative companies of today, the Intel Edison awards, and the NJ Black Maria Film Festival. Our foundation and our partner foundation, The Charles Edison Fund, helped make the $15 million Edison garage renovation possible at the Thomas Edison National Historical Park, among many other donations to the site for historical preservation.
LIGHTING THE WAY TO A BRIGHTER FUTURE
Licensing the Thomas Edison Legacy
Part of our foundation's mission is to preserve the Edison legacy, which we do in-part by licensing his name & intellectual property. The proceeds from licensing his quotes and image go towards educational programs like this one! LEARN MORE →
